I found the children’s Christmas book section at a store. And then under that is the Christmas Cake we bought at Baskin Robbins.

Giant Gundam in Tokyo

Yesterday (Wait not the day before yesterday) I went to the giant Gundam they set up in Tokyo for the summer.  It was very large. And gundam-y. I guess.

The sun was right behind it so getting pictures of it was very difficult.  The line was long so we didn’t wait to go touch it’s foot. As exhilarating as that sounds.

There was a cool view of Tokyo nearby.

Atami in Panoramas

I took several panoramic pictures of Atami during my vacation.

CLICK HERE FOR HIGH-RES PHOTO ALBUM

(Must click on each icon at two different pages to view full images as they are rather large images and thus a preview image isn’t available. Sorry about the inconvenience. If you click directly on images you won’t get a direct link, and I’m still working on a bug I’m having)

The high-res versions already have the water-mark removed. So yeah. Go crazy.

Kanamara Matsuri 2009 (Festival of the Steel Phallus)

Discretion advised.

NOTE: I’ve been trying to set it to only display a summary of this post on the homepage, but so far I’ve had no luck and for that I’m sorry.

Well, today, I attended a festival in Kawasaki that revolves around, well, Penises. Say it once if you want to just get it over with: Penis.

It was very…interesting? I mean, the festival felt sort of just festival-ish, but what made it interesting were the people that were there.  About half the people were foreigners, which I would complain about if I weren’t also a foreigner. There were also many other people, though, doing wacky things, which made it interesting.

I’ll get onto the pictures now.

For all of the pictures there are so many captions I could put for them. Because of that, I’ll just post basic ones and leave the rest to your imagination.

Souvenir shop. I didn’t buy anything.

A statue. This picture reminds me of when a reporter is trying to have a serious interview on TV when suddenly a streaker runs in the background of the footage.

The man in the back with the white camera looks like he’s taking a picture of me.

You could buy candy ones.

“I’ll take four penises please”…

DSCF3524

Wow. That’s expensive (600 yen)

DSCF3525

That’s a man.

The following pictures are a set of pictures taken of people riding the giant wooden penises.  Everyone was taking pictures, mind you, and they wanted their picture taken.  I’m not a creep.

My. He sure seems to be enjoying himself.

I was going to get a picture with these fine ladies but there wasn’t a nearby English speaker who i could ask to take the picture so..I didn’t.

They were selling cloth. With patterns on it.

Goodbyes

Well, today was not only my last school day, but also my big friend-going-away-party. It was a lot of fun. Yeah. I know. What original word choice.  I got a whole bunch of cards (Around 50 cards, actually) and I’d say about 40-50 people showed up at the party.  I also got a plate of cookies, some biscuit cookies, some chocolates and a bag full of brownies, which I shared with my World History Class.

That’s not all the people who came, it’s just the people I got group photos with.

I was so tired

Oh yes and I told Kayla I would give her a shoutout in my blog. Hi Kayla.

By the way, I learned this morning that the tags on my blog posts organize themselves alphabetically.  Before today, I was putting nifty little messages in the tags, and I realize now that the tags don’t make any sense and have really basic tags (i.e: The, a, I, etc.)

A Colin in Japan Christmas Special

I made a really lame video because I was dissapointed that I won’t get school off in Japan next year and Christmas is, of course, less celebrated over there

Vodpod videos no longer available.

And no, this not the official release of my blog.  I was just bored so I made this clip.  I’ll officially release my blog in a matter of days :)
